Establish the purpose

Write down whether the policy is for visa evidence, optional private access or both. Those purposes can produce different minimum requirements.

Use the same facts each time

Compare policies for the same people, postcode, start date and benefit level. Medical information should be supplied only through an insurer or authorised intermediary’s secure process.

Request the complete documents

Obtain the product information, full wording, personalised schedule, provider directory and any visa certificate before accepting. Article 3 of Spain’s Insurance Contract Act requires clauses limiting an insured person’s rights to be specially highlighted and specifically accepted in writing.

  • Legal insurer and DGSFP status
  • Local hospitals and specialists
  • Co-payments, waiting periods and exclusions
  • Authorisations, prescriptions and treatment abroad
  • Renewal, cancellation and complaints procedure

Keep the future purchase step separate

If this site later offers a regulated purchase or introduction route, it will be clearly labelled with the responsible provider, privacy terms and commercial status. Until then, no policy is offered or recommended here.

What to do next

If you are comparing cover, read the benefits and exclusions together, then compare the full contract rather than the product name.
