What the term changes
A covered consultation or test does not carry the co-payment listed in a per-use tariff. The premium can therefore be higher than for a comparable policy with co-payments.
What it does not change
The service must still be covered, medically eligible and obtained through the contract’s required route. Out-of-network treatment can remain payable by the patient.
Why it appears in visa instructions
Some immigration authorities require cover without co-payments because the policy is being used as the applicant’s main healthcare evidence. Apply that rule only to the route and authority that states it.
Questions to ask
Ask whether any service carries a charge, whether authorisation is required and whether the certificate and full contract use consistent wording.
